Richard J. Byron joined the Wisconsin Lawyers Mutual Board in 1988, when the company was a bare-bones operation. He worked for both Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance and Wausau Insurance Company during a long and distinguished professional career. He retired as Vice President and General Counsel of Wausau Insurance in 1995.

The Board benefits from his grasp of the regulatory and statutory processes that govern how the company operates. A member of both the Executive and Audit committees, Byron stays in touch with the company's finances.
